The Inspiring Journey of Avanish and Anvi with NIIT Foundation
At NIIT Foundation, we believe in the power of education to transform lives—not just for individuals, but for entire families. One such heartwarming story comes from Bhopal, where a mother-daughter duo, Avanish Patel (39) and her daughter Anvi Patel (19), enrolled together in our Program in Microsoft Office through the NIIT Foundation Digital Transformation Van (DTV) in May 2025. Their journey reflects courage, resilience, and the impact of digital literacy in opening doors for new opportunities.
A Mother’s Determination to Succeed
Avanish Patel grew up in a small village in Rewa district and studied up to the 10th standard. As the eldest of six sisters, she left her studies early to shoulder family responsibilities. After moving to Bhopal with her husband, she worked in boutiques and eventually set up her own home-based stitching business.
Despite all challenges, including a major financial setback in 2009, Avanish has always remained positive and determined to carve a better future. With a strong belief that learning computers would help her manage her boutique and grow her business, she joined NIIT Foundation’s program to upgrade her digital skills.
A Daughter’s Dream to Build a Career
Anvi, meanwhile, is a first-year BSc Biotechnology student with dreams of becoming a research fellow. Motivated to strengthen her digital knowledge while studying, she too joined the same computer program. Apart from academics, she nurtures her passion for art and reading, and sees digital skills as a stepping stone to part-time opportunities that can support her family.
Learning Together, Growing Together
Avanish and Anvi attend classes regularly and enthusiastically participate in every activity. Their presence has created a unique and inspiring atmosphere at the centre—showing how learning becomes even more powerful when done together as a family. Their journey proves that growth has no age barriers and that with the right support, individuals can continue to learn, evolve, and succeed at every stage of life.
